गुरुदेव रवींद्रनाथ टगोर ने कहा था कि भारतीय भाषाए नदीयां है और हिंदी महानदी।
१४ सितंबर १९४९ को भारत की संविधान द्वारा हिंदी को आधिकारीक भाषा का दर्जा दिया गया।
पहला हिंदी दिवस १४ सितंबर १९५३ को मनाया गया।
प्रतिबिंब चैरिटेबल ट्रस्ट (Pratibimb Charitable Trust) ने हिंदी कथा – कविता अभिवाचन का कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया और हिंदी दिवस मनाया।
